Geek Bar Pulse 2 25K next to the Pulse X 25K and the original Pulse 15K at VaperDudes

The Geek Bar Pulse 2 25K changes four things that actually matter: puff count, the screen, charging speed, and airflow. Regular Mode goes from 15,000 puffs to 25,000, and Pulse Mode doubles from 7,500 to 15,000. The flat display becomes a raised Dome Full Screen. Charging moves to USB-C fast charge, roughly 0 to 80 percent in 15 minutes. And airflow becomes adjustable, which the original never offered. If you already own a Pulse 15K and it does what you need, the upgrade is optional. If you are buying new, the Pulse 2 is the one to get, and the reason is the coil rather than the puff number.

Geek Bar Pulse vs Pulse 2: what actually changed

Both devices carry the same 16mL of e-liquid at 5 percent (50mg) salt nicotine. Everything else moved.

Spec Pulse 15K (original) Pulse 2 25K
Regular Mode 15,000 puffs 25,000 puffs
Pulse Mode 7,500 puffs 15,000 puffs
E-liquid 16mL 16mL
Nicotine 5% (50mg) salt 5% (50mg) salt
Coil Integrated dual mesh 0.8Ω dual mesh, VPU chip
Screen Flat full screen Dome Full Screen, raised
Battery Rechargeable 800mAh, USB-C fast charge
Airflow Fixed Adjustable, MTL to loose
Price at VaperDudes $17.25 $22.99

The headline is the puff count, but the honest read is that puff counts are a marketing number. Both devices hold the same 16mL. What changed is how efficiently that liquid gets turned into vapor, and that comes down to the coil.

Dual mode, 0.8Ω dual mesh with the VPU chip, Dome Full Screen, USB-C fast charge and adjustable airflow.

Why the coil matters more than the puff count

The Pulse 2 runs a 0.8Ω dual mesh coil managed by Geek Bar's VPU chip, which controls how e-liquid feeds back into the coil between draws. The original Pulse used an integrated dual mesh coil with no equivalent management.

That is the difference you actually notice. On the original, heavy chain vaping in Pulse Mode could outpace the wicking and produce a thin, slightly burnt draw until it caught back up. The Pulse 2 is built to keep the wick saturated, which is also how it gets 25,000 puffs from the same 16mL the original used for 15,000. Same liquid, less waste.

If you want the underlying principle, this explainer on mesh coil design covers why surface area and consistent saturation drive flavor more than raw wattage does.

The Dome Full Screen, and whether it is a gimmick

The original Pulse put a flat display on the front showing battery and e-liquid level. The Pulse 2 raises it into a curved dome and wraps it in what Geek Bar calls the Binary Orbit Light, a ring that indicates which mode you are in.

Practically, the dome is easier to read at an angle, which matters because you rarely look at a vape straight on. The mode indicator is the more useful half. On the original it was easy to leave the device in Pulse Mode without realising and burn through the liquid at double rate. A ring you can see at a glance fixes that.

Where the Geek Bar Pulse X fits

This is the question that trips people up, because the Pulse X also claims 25,000 puffs. The Pulse X 25K holds 18mL, two more than the Pulse 2, and reaches 25,000 in Regular Mode with about 15,000 in Pulse Mode. On paper the two are close.

The split is the hardware generation. The Pulse X is the larger-capacity version of the original platform with a 3D curved LED screen. The Pulse 2 is the newer platform: VPU chip, adjustable airflow, faster charging. More liquid on one, better delivery on the other.

If you want the longest possible run from a single device, the Pulse X carries more liquid. If you want the better draw and the ability to tune it, the Pulse 2. We covered the older matchup in our Pulse vs Pulse X comparison.

Should you upgrade from the original Pulse?

Three honest cases:

  • Buying your first one: get the Pulse 2. It is $5.74 more than the original and improves the coil, the screen, the charging and the airflow. There is no argument for buying the older platform new.
  • You own a Pulse 15K and mostly use Regular Mode: the upgrade is optional. You are getting more puffs and a nicer screen, not a different experience.
  • You own a Pulse 15K and live in Pulse Mode: upgrade. Pulse Mode doubling from 7,500 to 15,000 is the single largest change here, and the coil is built to sustain it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Geek Bar Pulse and the Pulse 2?

The Pulse 2 delivers 25,000 puffs in Regular Mode against 15,000 on the original, and 15,000 in Pulse Mode against 7,500. It also adds a 0.8Ω dual mesh coil with the VPU chip, a raised Dome Full Screen, an 800mAh USB-C fast-charging battery and adjustable airflow. Both hold 16mL at 5 percent nicotine.

How long does the Geek Bar Pulse 2 last?

Up to 25,000 puffs in Regular Mode, or up to 15,000 in Pulse Mode, which fires both coils for a stronger hit. Real-world life depends on which mode you use and how tight you set the airflow.

Is the Geek Bar Pulse 2 better than the Pulse X?

They solve different problems. The Pulse X holds 18mL against the Pulse 2's 16mL, so it runs longer per device. The Pulse 2 is the newer platform with a better coil, adjustable airflow and faster charging. Choose the X for capacity, the 2 for the draw.

Does the Geek Bar Pulse 2 charge faster?

Yes. It uses an 800mAh battery over USB-C and reaches about 80 percent in 15 minutes. That matters on a device this size, because the e-liquid outlasts a single battery charge several times over.

What does Pulse Mode actually do?

It fires both coils at once for a stronger, warmer hit. You trade longevity for intensity: on the Pulse 2 that means about 15,000 puffs instead of 25,000. The Binary Orbit Light ring tells you which mode is active, which the original made easy to lose track of.
